The BERNINA Patchwork Foot #97 is designed for straight-stitching and is ideal for sewing ¼ or ? seam allowances and top stitching.
It is available for BERNINA machines that have a maximum stitch width of 9mm. The foot print of the sole fits perfectly with the feeding system for the most accurate feeding and stitching when piecing patchwork blocks on a 9mm BERNINA machine.
Workaround for Foot #97 / #97D
Owners of BERNINA sewing machines; in which the foot #97 / #97D is not yet integrated in the firmware; can use it anyhow; by selecting the foot #37 / #57 or #37D / #57D.
Optional move-able seam guide
The Patchwork Foot #97 has an optional move-able seam guide. If the Patchwork Foot #97 comes as a standard accessory with a BERNINA machine; then the seam guide has to be bought separately. The seam guide aids in sewing perfectly straight ¼ seams. Especially helpful for beginners; this guide also offers extra insurance to experienced piecers. The Straight Stitch Plate is recommended to be used in conjunction with the Patchwork Foot.
